THE Appleby Manor Country House Hotel has been nominated for a prestigious “Hotelcatey” award.
It has been nominated for the “Green Hotel of the Year” award, in recognition of the actions its owners have taken to reduce its impact on the environment.
They have installed a bio mass boiler, energy efficient kitchen and drilled a bore hole to tap into hot underground water.
Other hotels nominated in the category are the Savoy, London, and The Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge. The winners will be announced at an award ceremony in London later this year.
Angela Dunbobbin, who owns the hotel along with her husband Mike, said “We are thrilled to have been nominated for such a prestigious award and especially to be in such esteemed company.
“We shall be flying the flag at the award ceremony in London not just for Appleby and the Eden Valley but for Cumbria as a whole.”
