Funding fair held at Kendal
1:56pm Friday 1st November 2013 in News
VOLUNTARY and community groups met with potential funders at a Funding Fair held at Kendal Town Hall.
The event, organised by Cumbria CVS, is an annual opportunity for organisations to find out about funding opportunities and get tips on application forms and techniques.
Ninety-nine people representing 66 organisations came to see funders including Big Lottery Fund and BBC Children in Need.
Cumbria CVS Business Development Officer for Barrow and South Lakes Robin Battersby said they had been ‘very pleased’ with the event’s turnout.
“This event is more important than ever because funding is getting tighter and tighter and more organisations are becoming dependent on it.
“We’re here to let people know that there is still funding out there but putting in a top quality application is getting more important.”
