University of Cumbria aims to be even 'greener'
A LAUNCH day is being held to promote sustainable projects within the University of Cumbria Students’ Union.
It was recently awarded the National Union of Students’ Green Fund with the aim to establish student-led environmental sustainability projects in partnership with local communities.
The four key themes of the fund are student participation, partnership, impact and legacy.
The launch is being held on Friday, November 15, between 10.30am and 12.30pm, at the University’s Ambleside Campus, Kitching room, Charlotte Mason Building.
Kasia Litwa, Environmental Projects Coordinator at the SU, said: “The vision of the Greener Minds project is to educate staff and students across all of our campuses, spanning the whole of Cumbria, North Lancashire and a small site in London, in sustainable living and raising awareness of the positive impact that they can have on the environment.
“The project will include ‘greening’ the University, converting small green spaces into students’ gardens and many others.”
Please contact Kasia on 015245 90818 if you wish to attend.
