Settlebeck High School pleased with Ofsted report

A DALES school has declared itself ‘pleased’ with its most recent Ofsted report – despite dropping a grade to ‘good’.

Settlebeck High School, Sedbergh, was one of 16 schools inspected by the education watchdog in a blitz over the past few weeks.

The results showed it to have ‘outstanding’ behaviour and safety of pupils while a ‘good’ grading was given to achievement, quality of teaching and leadership and management.

Head teacher Dr Judith Greene said: “This is an excellent report, and under the new, demanding framework, it is a significant achievement.

“We know we are a much better school than we were three years ago when we were rated outstanding under a previous framework.”

She added: “The part of the report I was most pleased with was how proud the students told the inspectors they were of their school.”
