RESIDENTS on a South Cumbrian caravan park are being evacuated from their homes due to growing fears about rising tides.
Around 10 caravans located near the sea wall at Earnse Bay Caravan Park are being cleared by officers from Cumbria Police and Barrow Borough Council.
The park neighbours the Furness coast and Irish Sea.
Police said a reception centre has been established at Walney's Eamont Close Community Centre.
Cumbria County Council and Adult Services are they to assist anyone who requires help.
Police said: "This is a precaution only and residents will be able to return to their homes once the weather system passes.
"The public are encouraged to adhere to any information and warnings that are issued, these are release for the safety of the public and emergency services. "
