THE Medical Education Team at the Cumbria NHS Trust has been praised for rating highly in external assessments.
The team, responsible for delivering training for medical students and trainee doctors across the North West and the North East of England, has been praised by its new chief executive for achieving top scores and feedback from several outside agencies.
“Quality is at the heart of everything we do at this trust,” said Claire Molloy, chief executive.
“This team have demonstrated how quality not only results in good patient care, by giving the medical staff the best start in their career, but also a great working environment.”
External assessors that visited the team came from the General Medical Council, the North West School of Psychiatry and Lancaster Medical School, among others.
The team was also commended by the recent North West Deanery Quality inspection for patient safety, equality and diversity, delivery of curriculum and support and development of trainees, trainers and local faculty.
