THE organiser of Ingleton Folk Weekend is to stand down after 13 successful years.
Chris Bonsall will to hang up his hat as organiser of the event, having brought folk legends such as Ralph McTell, Kate Rusby, Eliza Carthy and Kathryn Tickell to the village.
The Ingleton and District Tradespeoples’ Association – which has always underwritten the event – is keen that it should not fold altogether and the group’s treasurer Mat Cooper, landlord at the Wheatsheaf Inn, is taking over the reins of what will be a slightly smaller event.
To reflect this change, the festival will now be called the Ingleton Folk Gathering, but as before it will take place on the first weekend in October.
