AN ENVIRONMENTAL debate will take place at the University of Central Lancashire on Wednesday February 12.

The Greenbank Lecture Theatre is playing host to the Outdoors team’s debate which will explore the sensitive issue of access to environment for outdoor activities versus environmental preservation.

Professor of Tourism and Development, Richard Sharpley, will chair the debate which should provide a thought-provoking discussion on where to draw the line between use and preservation.

Keynote speakers will include the State University of New York’s Lynn Anderson, the University of Cumbria’s Jamie McPhie, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s Kathryn Beardmore, the RSPB’s Robin Horner and the British Mountaineering Council’s Dr Catherine Flitcroft.

The debate is from 4-6pm and it will be streamed live.
