TWO Rotary competitions have been launched to find the Craven Young Writer and Young Artist of the Year.

The contests are being run by The Rotary Club of Settle and cover the whole of Craven, including Ingleton, Bentham and Clapham.

Entry is open to all between the ages of seven and 18. There are three age groups – junior, intermediate and senior – in each competition and prizes will be awarded for the first three entries in each group.

Entries are welcomed through schools or may be submitted individually. The subject title for both competitions is: The event that made a difference to my life/their lives.

Launching the competitions, Rotarian Bob Hart said: “We had a very good entry for both competitions last year and we are hoping to maintain the same high standards.”

All schools received notices of the competitions before Christmas and entry details can be found under Youth Awards/Activities at settlerotary.org.uk. The closing date is Friday, March 21.
