SOUTH Cumbria is seeing a sharp rise in the theft of chainsaws and high value tools, with 29 thefts this year alone.
Crimestoppers is urging people who have been offered these tools or who may know who is carrying out these thefts to contact them anonymously on 0800 555 111 or Cumbria Police on 101.
The charity are advising that with thieves operating in the south of the County, the public should take care in looking after their tools, particularly chainsaws.
A Crimestoppers spokesperson said: "Should anyone be offered high value tools for sale in suspicious circumstances please consider that you may be handling stolen goods yourself and contributing to funding organised crime."
