THE managing editor of RAIL magazine is to address members of the Cumbrian Railways Association at their Spring Conference.
Nigel Harris, a committed advocate of the High Speed 2 (HS2) rail route, will be speaking at Newton Rigg College, near Penrith, on Saturday March 15.
He began his career as a journalist in Cumbria and now occupies an influential role through his editorial position at the high-circulation magazine. Members of the public are also welcome to attend the conference. The day’s proceedings will continue with the association annual general meeting.
It will be followed in the afternoon by presentations from members. Raymond Penn will talk about ‘Reminiscences of a Cumbrian Footplate Man’ and Les Gilpin will present North Lancashire Images from the Pearsall Collection.
