Councillor to organise Help for Heroes concert to commemorate two world wars
A KENDAL town councillor is set to organise a concert with the songs and music covering two world wars to raise money for the Help for Heroes Charity.
Coun Tom Clare will be organising the event alongside former Mayor Dave Birkett – to commemorate the WWI Centenary as well as 75 years since the outbreak of WWII.
It is intended that the concert will be held at St Thomas’s Parish Church on July 17 with performers including the Kendal Male Voice Choir and Kendal Concert Band.
The event of commemoration will also co-incide with the return of British troops from Afghanistan.
