PLANS to overhaul the Ferry Nab area of Bowness have been revised by South Lakeland District Council.

Proposals for new facilities on the lake shore have been split into two projects which the council hopes to put to the Lake District National Park Authority.

“These will be important proposals to encourage more people to take part in boating, biking, and other healthy activities,” said Coun Giles Archibald.

“We are working closely with partners to ensure we can provide something the whole community will be proud of.”

The first phase of the development will look at the jetties, with better access for short-term use and more berths for private let.

The jetties now proposed are also shorter than in the original plans.
