DEAD animals, burnt cars and pornographic material are among the top ten discarded items on fly-tipping sites.
A Woodlands Trust report, released to mark International Day of Forests, revealed fly-tipping clearance alone has cost the charity more than £90,000 in the last four years.
In the last two years the charity has had to spend £14,000 on litter and fly-tipping clearance for 21 of 35 woods in Cumbria that it manages.
These include Scroggs Wood, Warriners Wood and Round Hill Wood, Kendal, Swarthmoor Hall Wood, near Ulverston, Great Knott Wood, Windermere, and Dufton Ghyll Wood, Dufton, near Appleby.
