AS part of a nationwide event to invite more people to explore England’s woodlands, Grizedale Forest is to host a Discovery Day on Sunday, March 30.
Visitors can enjoy a range of activities including a self led trail, guided walk and children’s craft activities.
There will be an exhibition on forestry past and present and the chance to see how the log cabin at Grizedale was built as well as demonstrations from a chainsaw carver.
“Forest Discovery Day is all about sharing the good work the Forestry Commission does with visitors and encouraging people who may have not visited for a while to take time to enjoy their local woodlands,” said Ian Gambles, director of Forestry Commission England.
“Woods and forests are great for people and wildlife, as well as supporting the timber trade.”
