ONE of the Lake District's best hotels is off to Leeds next month to open-up a pop-up Michelin restaurant at one of the country's most famous luxury lifestyle retailers.

The Samling, close to the shores of Windermere near Ambleside, will move lock, stock and kitchen to Harvey Nichols in Leeds on Thursday May 15.

It will take over the prestigious Fourth Floor Café at the city centre store with its head chef Ian Swainson introducing what Samling officials called a 'spectacular six course evening tasting menu'.

The hotel won a Michelin Star in 2013 and was also voted the Best Dining Hotel in the World at the annual Boutique Hotel Awards.

Organisers says the evening is part of the Harvey Nichols Restaurant Festival which showcases the very best of Harvey Nichols dining from Sunday 4 to Sunday 18 May.

Samling General Manager Alasdair Elwick said: “We are extremely pleased to be picked for such a prestigious event. We will be proudly showcasing the region and aim to give the diners of Leeds an evening to remember.”
