A FORMER Kendal Mountain Rescue Leader has been presented with a Territorial Policing Commander's Certificate of Merit for his ‘exceptional service to the community’.
Eddie Harrison, whose radio call-sign is ‘Kendal Eddie', was presented with the award by Chief Superintendent Steve Johnson at a ceremony today (April 24).
In his 24 years with the Team Eddie has attended an estimated 1,000 incidents.
He stepped down as Leader of Kendal MRT last year after four years – prior to that he served as Deputy Team Leader for 10 years.
He is continuing his service to the Team in an Operations Support role.
Current Team Leader Dave Howarth said that Eddie's award was ‘thoroughly deserved’ and that he ‘values greatly the continued support and advice that he provides’.
