ULVERSTON’S most iconic landmark is to shine brighter at night – after the town council agreed to install replacement floodlights at the Hoad Hill monument.
Council officials said they had noticed the previous lights had been ‘fading dramatically for a number of months.’
And £1,600 is to be spent to re-apply special paint to protect the lower section of the structure from damp.
