RESIDENTS are being invited to discuss plans for this year’s Appleby Horse Fair.
Cumbria County Council is holding a special meeting of the Upper Eden Neighbourhood Forum at Appleby Public Hall between 7pm and 9pm on Monday May 19.
The chair of the fair’s multi-agency strategic coordinating group (MASCG), and Chief Executive of Eden District Council, Robin Hooper will present arrangements for the 2014 fair at the meeting.
The meeting, chaired by Appleby County Councillor Martin Stephenson, gives local people the opportunity to hear about operational planning for the fair directly from the co-ordinating group and ask questions or raise concerns.

Coun Stephenson said: “We’ll be discussing a range of issues relating to the fair including policing, traffic management and the regulation of caravan sites so I’d encourage residents to come along and find out more.”
Following the fair there will be a public debrief meeting at Appleby Public Hall between 7pm and 9pm on July 21 to discuss how it went and give residents an opportunity to make suggestions for the planning process for next year.
Appleby Horse Fair runs from June 5 to June 11.
