A JAPANESE acer tree which police said had 'significant sentimental value for its elderly owner' has been stolen.
The tree was taken from a garden at Sandes Hospital Cottages on Highgate, Kendal.
The theft occurred between 9.30pm on May 11 and 7.50am on May 12.
The tree is described as approximately 5ft tall with red foliage.
It was uprooted from its pot which was left behind at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101.
