NORTH Lancashire wine importer EWGA is putting the finishing touches 5,000ft extension to one of its bonded warehouses at Warton.

It will provide extra storage capacity for the company’s growing national wine business as well as additional space for Leeds-based wine importer Bottle Green, who use EWGA for their national storage and distribution.

The company was first established in 1972 from the family home in Silverdale by Pamela and Gerald Moeckell. Since the move to leased premises in 2000 and then to purpose-built facilities in 2007 the business has gone from strength to strength under the vision and guidance of their son Adrian.

In the last 10 years EWGA has continued to grow at more than ten per cent per year in difficult times. This has involved re-investing in the business and diversifying into other areas of the wine trade. The company now has wholesale, trade, retail and agency sides to the business in addition to the bonded warehouse and fine wine storage facilities
