A MAN who suffered a suspected fractured ankle while walking has been flown to hospital in Carlisle.
An air ambulance, police and mountain rescuers all attended the incident at around 3pm yesterday, after reports a man had slipped while walking with his partner on High Dodd above Boredale Hause.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team took over from Cumbria Police before the air ambulance, from Blackpool, arrived to take him to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
The callout was attended by 12 mountain rescuers and lasted for four hours.
