Activists are preparing to record an emotional song on Blencathra to raise awareness for their cause.
The Friends of Blencathra action group will sing a version of Woody Guthrie’s ‘This Land is Your Land’.
The action group is attempting to buy Blencathra using donations and return the land to public public ownership for the first time since 1620.
Lyrics in the song such as ‘this land was made for you and me’ clearly resonate with their cause.

Dave Camlin, a musician from West Cumbria, came up with the idea.
He said: “The song raises questions about who owns the land and tackles some issues surrounding Blencathra.
"Does it belong to the people who work it? It’s an issue that dates back to the 1700s and the Enclosure Act.
" This is an opportunity for people to come together and have a good old sing.
"People feel really strongly about the mountain and singing is one of the best ways to bring people together.”
The recording of ‘This Land is Your Land’, orignally released in 1944, takes place at 6pm on bank holiday Monday after a picnic on the slopes of Blencathra.
