The Diocese of Carlisle's Rydal Hall is set to play host to a summer showcase of Lake District artwork.

Featuring 25 talented Lake District artists, the Lakes Collective of Artists and Designer Makers will present their Summer Showcase at the Bishop Bulley Barn in the grounds of Rydal Hall during the first week of June.

Artists, painters, printmakers, sculptors, woodworkers, ceramicists, textile artists, silversmiths, jewellers, glassworkers, bookbinders, milliners and cabinet makers are coming together to display an exhibition of their latest work.

After a successful collaboration last autumn with poets and the Wordsworth Trust, the Lakes Collective members decided they would like to continue their exploration into the realms of literature.

MORE TOP STORIES: At this year's Showcase some of the artists and designer makers are exhibiting the results of their experiments in portraying the written word in artistic form.

The Showcase runs from Monday 2 June to Sunday 8 June at the Bishop Bulley Barn, Rydal Hall, Rydal, LA22 9LX.

It is open to the public from 10am to 5pm every day and until 9pm on Thursday 5 June.

Admission is free and the Rydal Hall Teashop, Heritage Gardens and Sculpture Trail featuring new installations by Lakes Collective Artists will also be open 10am to 5pm every day.
