TWITTER users from as far away as Australia joined in a Q&A about diabetes with staff from the trust that runs Morecambe Bay’s hospitals.
Thousands joined in the conversation as experts answered questions about the disease in children, led by specialist nurse, Kerry Hodson, with consultant, Dr Ash Kale, and psychologist, Tessa Franken.
Kerry described the chat as ‘an invaluable insight’ into what people want to know about managing the illness.
“There are questions that people don’t always want to ask face to face but in this environment they can feel more confident,” she said.
“We can share the answers to help everyone’s understanding – it was really encouraging to have people involved from as far away as Australia.”
