A MYSTERY artist has shocked people in Ulverston by leaving sinister street art next to a main road.

Ulverstonians awoke to find a 6ft tall skull daubed onto a door of Robinson’s Brewery Distribution Centre, Brewery Street.

The ‘shock art’, was painted onto three separate canvases before being secured to the door.

Ulverston Town Council was divided on the art, with some councillors appreciating the artwork.

But Coun Pat Jones from the council said: “It does not give a good impression of Ulverston.

“People from all over the country are going to see that thing and think we are common.”

Cumbria Police said the drilling of the painting into the door frame was ‘very minor criminal damage’.
