CUMBRIA’S carers are to benefit from almost £1.5m of extra grants and support over the next three years.
A total of £1.43m in annual funding will be available from next month and be divided between the revamped Carers Assessment and Support Service and grants to local organisations.
This money will come from Cumbria County Council and the Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), but will be administered by Carers Support Cumbria, which is made up entirely of local carer organisations.
