WORK started this week on a six-month project to build a new hydro-power scheme in the Langdale valley.
Three Cumbrian firms – designers Ellergreen, civil engineers Beckside Construction and Gilbert, Gilkes & Gordon, Kendal – are collaborating on the National Trust project using the power of the water coming down the ghyll to drive a turbine to produce electricity.
