SOUTH Lakes MP Tim Farron has welcomed the news that safety work will be completed in the coming days on the Lilymere bends on the A684 between Kendal and Sedbergh.
Mr Farron said he had been 'campaigning for months' for resurfacing work to take place following a series of collisions.
Mr Farron said: “This is very welcome news and I’m sure local residents will be pleased to hear that work will be done to try and fix the road. I want to thank the (Cumbria County) council for agreeing to do it and I’d like to thank local councillors and residents for helping make this happen.”
