LIVESTOCK farmers are being invited to an important meeting later in July to discuss new measures to stop the spread of TB.
It follows TB outbreaks across North Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The NFU and the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA) has organised a meeting specifically for local farmers.
It will take place at 7.30pm at the J36 Rural Auction Centre, Crooklands, on Monday 7 July.

The NFU said it will outline some of the new measures which may come in to stop the further spread of TB and highlight what farmers can do to minimise the risk of bringing TB onto their farms.
The speakers are:
• Gonzalo Sanchez (AHVLA Regional Veterinary Lead England North) who will give an update of the TB situation in Cumbria and Lancashire.
• Ian McGrath (Cheshire farmer and member of the Government’s TB advisory panel) who will give a personal account of what it is like to farm with TB.
• Carl Padgett (Former British Veterinary Association President) will discuss the biology and science of TB and its control.
• Minette Batters (NFU Deputy President) will then give the NFU’s perspective on the Government’s TB control policy.
