“I was standing with a camera in one hand, my drink in the other and I had a clutch (bag) under my arm and I just stood still,” she said.

Lydia, who studies English Literature at Warwick, was one of 43,000 entrants whittled down into categories with shortlists of ten.

A keen photographer, she uses her blog to share her love of fashion and writes about her outfit choices and vintage clothes with ‘a story to tell’.

“Some of the people in my category are really well known so it was big competition,” she said.

“I was there just as a blogger, but then suddenly it became about my career.”

Already Lydia has been contacted by PR companies and has had an influx of new followers and hits to her blog.

She continued:“I won a trophy, but it’s more about the coverage than anything else. It’s really motivated me to up my blog “
