Kendal College students get 30 minutes to rustle up a recipe from a bag of mystery ingredients

KENDAL College students swept away the competition at Cumbria Colleges’ Annual Catering Competition.

Held at Lakes College, Workington, the Kendal students took on their hosts and had to create a dish from a mystery bag of ingredients, which was only revealed on the day.

They then had 30 minutes in which they could research recipes and set up their station before the competition started.

The competition was judged by Kirsty Stewart of the Lakes College and Trish Wilson of Kendal College.

All students received feedback on their dishes and received a certificate and a recipe book.

Winners included Jack Lawrence, Czarek Flack and Alex Slee.
