KENDAL Town Council has awarded £500 towards the cost of taking members of the Kendal detachment of the Cumbria Army Cadet Force to Arnhem in September.
The cadets will go on a battlefield tour with the support of the Dutch Armed Forces and take part in a ceremony at The Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery.
They will also visit the town of Oosterbeek, where the Border Regiment were flown in by glider in the D-Day landings of 1944.
