Safety probe launched after Cumbrian pylon plunge death

THE Health and Safety Executive have launched an investigation after a man died following a fall from a pylon in north Cumbria.
The 49-year-old, from Walsall in the West Midlands, was carrying out maintenance work on a pylon at Great Orton on Saturday when he fell about 22ft (7m).
The man, who worked for Bilfinger Industrial Services, died at the scene.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said his death was not being treated as suspicious.
