A SHOULDER bag has been stolen after being left unattended on a trolley at Booths supermarket, Windermere.

Police are appealing for information following the theft which occurred yesterday (Thursday) at around 1.20pm.

The navy shoulder bag with brown straps was left on a shopping trolley which was left in the trolley park on Booths' car park.

It contained a silver iPhone 5S, a wallet and cash. It was decorated with a butterfly motif.

When the owner of the bag returned a short while later it was missing, but had not been handed in at the store's customer services desk.

Police are now appealing for information about the theft.
