Stone skimmers head for Fell Foot
SOUTH Cumbria Rivers Trust’s annual All England Open Stone Skimming Championships, to raise funds for its conservation work, will take place at the National Trust’s Fell Foot Park, Newby Bridge, on Saturday August 16, from 11am – with sponsors Russell Armer Homes offering a trophy for a new team category for the first time.
Teams can be up tofour people, with each member having three stones. Competitions will also be held for men, women, under 11s and 11-16 year olds.
