THREE bus services have been secured in South Lakeland and Eden after a deal was struck between Kendal College, Cumbria County Council, Queen Katherine School and Stagecoach.
The new services will run twice daily during term-time, Monday to Friday, and will be accessible to students and the public from November 3 until July 17, 2015.
The 506 timetable will be amended to operate between Penrith and Kendal; a 502 service will replace the 564; and a new 504 service will serve Appleby-in-Westmorland.

Earlier this year, Cumbria County Council announced it would withdraw bus subsidies and subsidised home to school/college transport for post-16 students, other than for low-income families.
The council’s budget is being cut by £200m a year by 2018 and withdrawing the subsidies should save £2.9m a year.
The current 106, 506 and 564 services will continue until the October half term, and the new arrangements will come into effect on November 3.
