Lost family of five helped by Coniston Mountain Rescue Team
A FAMILY of five – including three children – were helped by Coniston Mountain Rescue Team after getting lost on Holme Fell, north of the village.
The team were called out at 6.35pm on Thursday and initially two team members, including the Team Leader, set off immediately to begin the search.
The rest of the team gathered at the base before being split into three more groups to cover the area extensively from different approaches.
The family was found safe and well near Uskdale Gap.

They were accompanied back to their car which had been left at Stang End.
In total 17 Team Members responded to the incident which lasted two hours.
