THE Wensleydale Creamery has won an export deal worth more than £100,000 to Singapore and Kuwait.
The family brand and history of the Hawes-based business was praised by Dairy Farm, one of Singapore’s leading retailers, which will stock lines such as Kit Calvert, Wensleydale Blue, Yorkshire Wensleydale and blended cheeses such as Yorkshire Wensleydale and Cranberries in three of its chains – Cold Storage, Market Place and Jason’s.
The creamery has also sent orders to Kuwait City where it is supplying high end hotels and delis such as the Dean and DeLuca store.
Managing director David Hartley said: “All of the team are thrilled that our cheese has now been recognised by cheese lovers across Singapore and Kuwait. Our heritage makes Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese taste truly unique.”
