HOTEL bedrooms are something we try and keep individual in feel and experience for the visitor, hopefully so they remain in people's mind as somewhere they can call their own and return to with the expectancy of consistency.

We are often asked to recreate these schemes in private homes.

I personally find it quite difficult to double up on a scheme, so when this happens we will inevitably alter fabrics, window dressings and furnishings to create another individual look, but with the similar style, feel and colour palate to give our customer what they are looking for.

Importantly, we have to approach hotel bedrooms in quite a different way from private ones.

We think it is important to weigh up the percentage of 'wow factor' to longevity, as most clients are looking for something they can invest in for the future - a room they will not tire of and always feel at home in.

We therefore rarely use big impact or statement designs in wall coverings, window treatments or carpets as we would in boutique hotels, as you may love them on first impression, but this sensation often does not continue for years down the line.

So, unless you are planning a short term re-modelling or fashion statement , we like to advise a classically contemporary approach, good quality fabrics and furnishings that stand the test of time, with loose fittings or items that can be adjusted for colour or impact further down the line should you stumble across some to die for cushion or bed throw. It is after all your personal space, so should ooze a lot of you.

Hotel bedrooms and rental properties need to appeal to a wider cross section of the public, and continue to impress, but also fundamentally be extremely practical and easy for housekeeping to keep looking good!

We work with hotels to build their 'brand' in every aspect of the guest experience. It is as important for us as the hotelier that their rooms reflect their clientele and their expectations. Thankfully no two are the same, however what they all share is quality of finishing, comfort, warmth and a welcoming aura.
