TALENTED violinist Heather Storer has won this year's prestigious Keldwyth Cumbrian Young Musicians Award. The 21-year-old Kendalian won over the adjudicators and a large and appreciative audience to win the 34th Keldwyth final at a packed Victoria Hall, Grange-over Sands. She takes home The Reg Griffiths Trophy and a cheque for £1,000. The other three finalists were Burton-in-Kendal drummer, Harry Still, cellist Joe Davies, from Hilton, near Appleby, and Maryport pianist Daniel McLaughlin, who received the Geoffrey Blake Award and £500 as runner-up; Harry and Joe each received £250.
