There were plenty of goals scored in The Kent Valley Junior Football League as the season got underway.

In the Medalmaster Under 16 League Tim Winnard scored five goals after Heathwaite routed Grange United 11-0.

The Windermere-based team ran riot while Peter Clough scored a brace before Morgan Henderson, Lewis Bowness, Jack Gosling and Callum Pinder were also on the score sheet.

Ibis Under 16s also made a winning start to the season following a 3-0 win at Milnthorpe United. Alfie Shepperd and Fletcher Berry put Ibis 2-0 up before an own goal sealed the win.

In the Under 15 League Kendal United Rockets edged out Ambleside 5-4. Tom Humble scored a brace before Joshua Irving, Jack Slater and Mohammed Patel made sure of the points. Ambleside replied through Jacob Smiths brace, and goals by Charlie Elleray and Robbie Watson.

The Jim Troughton Under 14 League saw 24 goals scored across the three league games played.

The biggest winners of the morning were Ambleside who defeated Grange United 10-4. Daniel Hardy scored five times, while Robert Saunders bagged a hat trick.

Max Barron’s hat trick guided Ibis to an emphatic 7-2 win at Appleby while Jacksons Sheppard’s goal proved to be enough as Kendal United edged out Wattsfield United 1-0 at The Jubilee Playing Fields.

In the David Hayton Under 13 League Matthew Casson scored five times after Wattsfield United defeated Kendal United Colts 12-0.

In the other games, James Bowen’s brace eased Ambleside United to a 2-0 victory at Kirkby Stephen, Wattsfield defeated Milnthorpe United 6-1.

Oscar Coxon scored a hat trick, before goals by Luke Lofthouse,Warren Dance and Keira Berry guided Wattsfield to their second straight win of the season. Kendal United were also victorious following a comfortable 7-1 win over Grange United. Jamie Harris scored four goals for the hosts.
