PRINCE Charles has concluded a one day tour of Cumbria.

This morning the heir to the throne was met by school children at Langwathby Railway Station before unveiling the official plaque to designate the Lake District as a world heritage site at Crow Park, Keswick.

A reception was held at Theatre by the Lake.

He then travelled to Newton Rigg College to meet students benefitting from the Prince's Countryside Fund and toured a state-of-the-art sheep husbandry centre.

A short trip on Ullswater Steamers flagship boat 'Lady of the Lake' before he ended the day at paper makers James Cropper at Burneside.

There he joined a discussion with business leaders to learn what more businesses can do to create value from waste.
