Ulverston apprentices take up the challenge
12:00pm Monday 27th January 2014 in Business
ULVERSTON-based Siemens Subsea has entered two teams in to the nationally recognised Brathay Apprentice Challenge.
Supported by the National Apprentice Service, teams made up of nine apprentices across the UK will battle it out to prove their team building, leadership, logistical and communications abilities.
Shaun Hannaway, learning and development advisor, said: “The enthusiasm shown by our apprentices has been overwhelming and I’m sure the local community and schools will benefit greatly from each team’s desire to succeed and put something back.”
To qualify for the final of the Brathay Apprentice Challenge all teams must compete in the regional heats between January and March.
These heats involve raising awareness in local schools and also taking part in community projects to use their skills in the local area.
Finalists will be announced in April at a reception in the House of Commons – with the event to be held in June.
