HRH Princess Anne presented an award to Anna Shaw who inspired female Cumbrian students to consider science-related careers.
Anna, who works at GSK Ulverston, was presented with the award in London to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) campaign.
She won the WISE Apprentice award sponsored by the Institute of Civil Engineers.
Her commitment and enthusiasm contributed to a 25% increase in female applications for apprenticeships at GSK Ulverston.
