A GROUP of five University of Cumbria students have organised a conference for women in business in South Cumbria.

On March 6, the students will be hoping all their hard work has paid off when businesswomen from across the area attend an inspiring and information packed conference at Kendal College.

Julia Maeure, Stephanie Maxey, Jenny Wilson, Julia Dirla and Catherine Cavanagh have been working since October with Debra Jessett and Gail Knopfel from the Lakeland Businesswomen's Network (LBN) in preparation for the event.

The conference has been created with the aim of inspiring women in business to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Whether they are looking to start a new business or need some tools to help grow an existing business, attract new customers or develop a confident vision for the future - this conference has it covered. There will be an accomplished line up of speakers including Cath Rumney from The Creative Branch, Ali Tordoff from the award winning interior architecture and furniture design company Fidget Design and Catherine Connor from award winning Aspire Photography Training.

Two local charities will also benefit from promotion at the conference as the nominated beneficiaries of Lakeland Businesswomen’s Network are The Birchall Trust and The Tigerlily Trust.

The event is sponsored by the Cumbria Growth Hub. It is free for anyone to attend and a light lunch and refreshments will also be included.

Booking is essential. Visit www.lbn.org.uk for more.
