A LONG-standing family business is preparing for the future after buying outright its Kendal shop thanks to financial help from The Royal Bank of Scotland.
Byrom’s Furnishings has purchased its Wildman Street store that will allow for some alterations and modifications to take place to the premises.
Nigel Byrom has been leading the business for over 30 years after taking over from his late father.
His grandparents set the business up in 1934. His 23-year-old son Aaron will soon step into Nigel’s shoes and succession plans are already in place for the transition to take place.
Mr Byrom, managing partner of Byrom’s Furnishings, said: “The Byrom name has been a household name in Kendal for over 80 years and is set to continue when I step back from the business and hand over the responsibility to my son, Aaron, who will be the youngest Byrom in generations to run the business.
"We are very grateful to our loyal customers for their continued support and our investment in Kendal cements our future commitment to the town.
