AN EDEN franchise of a national business which offers arts and crafts classes for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers has received a prestigious national award.

Ruth Longrigg, owner of The Creation Station Cumbria - which also offers party packages for all ages - won the award of 'Best Can Do Attitude' at the 13th annual Creation Station Inspiring Imaginations Conference in Birmingham.

"Our network make such positive contributions to their local community and really help children and families to be creative and have fun together," said Sarah Cressall, founder and managing director of the national franchise. "Each year our franchise owners are becoming more and more successful and the calibre is really high."

Ruth, a mother-of-three who lives near Appleby, said: "Over the last two years I have worked hard to build classes and work with different organisations and it's great to get national recognition of this."

Pam Mallinson, an employee from July 2014 was instrumental in helping her to start after school clubs at Appleby & Brunswick School, as well as Baby Discover classes from September 2014. She received runner up in the 'Best Member of Staff' category.
