CHRISTMAS may yet still be four months away but one Furness firm has already rolled out its latest festive production.

Lindal-based Wax Lyrical is targeting a £20million pound turnover by 2017 and hopes its Christmas range will provide a springboard to reach that target.

Managing director Joanne Barber said improvements in productivity, reform of manufacturing techniques and upskilling of staff following a recent £1million pound investment in the factory means the company will achieve the growth while maintaining current staffing levels.

She added: “Our recent investment in the factory has allowed us to enter the seasonal gifting market in a serious way and is helping to drive improvements in productivity.

“We are in a really strong position to take Wax Lyrical to the next stage of growth.”

Wax Lyrical's new Christmas range for 2015 includes an advent calendar (with a different tea light each day and culminating in a prayer candle) and a gift box containing 12 different candles.

New gifting ranges have also been developed for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter.

A garden range is also being launched for spring/summer 2016 in anticipation of a barbecue summer, coinciding with the Olympics and Euro 2016.
