A LUNE Valley hotel has won two lifestyle awards for its food and drink offering as well as its accommodation.

Hipping Hall, near Kirkby Lonsdale, bagged the Best Luxury Hotel & Restaurant 2016 and Best Country House Hideaway 2016 in the LUX magazine UK regional food and drink and hotel and spa awards.

The annual Hotel & Spa Awards recognise the outstanding contribution made by the winners to the hospitality industry; applauding the atmosphere of the properties concerned, their location, the quality of food on offer, and the levels of customer service experienced by guests.

The food and drink awards acknowledge outstanding performance in the industry. Every day, food and drink companies across the world provide their customers and consumers with excellent service and these awards are designed to recognise this and commend the participants for being among the best in their field.

Discussing the awards, Lux awards co-ordinator Katherine Benton said: “Food and drink is a key part of the hospitality industry, and the dedicated firms and the individuals that drive them and whose role it is to prepare and serve our meals work diligently to ensure that every detail is just right. I am very proud of each one of my winners, and I would like to wish them the best of luck going forward.”

Andrew Wildsmith, owner of Hipping Hall, said: "The team at Hipping are on a bit of a roll, having claimed the top slot in Lancashire Life Food & Drink awards as the regions Hotel Restaurant of the year and Marketing Lancashire’s Boutique Accommodation award in 2016.

"We are only a small property, but there’s no doubt we punch well above our weight. Everything we have achieved is a real team effort from housekeeping, front of house, kitchen, restaurant and reception and I’d like to thank the entire team for their continued hard work and dedication.’’
